Dongxu Optoelectronic Technology recently unveiled a graphene battery in Beijing, called G-King. The report out of China does not reveal how close the G-King battery is to mass production. It might be close, considering the stage show the company pulled off – and if so, it may be the world’s first graphene battery.
Dongxu Optoelectronic Technology was established in 1997 and its headquarters and R&D center are located in Beijing, China. The Tunghsu Group, with yearly revenues of over $5 Billion USD, has a production base for graphene, sapphire and color filters ans has signed agreements with graphene companies (ICN2 included) and invested in many graphene initiatives. Graphene is an exciting material with much disruptive potential, and batteries are one of the main focal points of interest worldwide.
